My mind knows what it wants and I AM going to get it.

Really, do you really know what your mind wants?

Okay, you want to control your mind!

Perhaps you would like to stop thinking about a recent challenge or obstacle, something that set you back.

We all have unwanted thoughts that cause plenty of frustration and distress, we want to move it out of our minds, there is just too much noise in our minds.

With all of this , how can we convince ourselves to look up when we feel down?

Here are 3 Tips to take charge of Your Mindset and Control Your Thoughts.

  1. Accept the unwanted thoughts – pushing away unwanted thoughts will make the thoughts more intense. The best way is to accept them, they offer some clues as to why that thought is there. Meditate on these thoughts, ask yourself those deep questions within to solve these unwanted thoughts. Notice them, acknowledge them but then let them go, it will loosen its hold on you. The more you meditate, the easier it becomes to let unwanted thoughts drift past.
  1. Focus on the Positives – with social media at its peak, we all are riddled with negative news, negative memes, negative talk and yet we need to constantly pull ourselves into positivity. Positive thinking doesn’t mean pretending there’s nothing wrong, it involves putting a more positive spin on your negative thoughts. For every negative thought I have, I try to find between 3 – 5 positives to offset it. Try it, you will be amazed at your mind power.
  1. Manage your Stress – being human, circumstances do get out of our control which adds stress to your life. Stress will bring about unwanted thoughts, it’s normal. Take control by exploring what is causing you stress and find ways to remove that trigger. I believe this is where self-care plays a role. Making time to nurture your mind, body and soul can promote improved well-being. With this mindset, you can overcome obstacles much quicker.

In summary, You don’t need to be an expert to control your mind, all it takes is a bit of practice, creating a habit to deal with unwanted thoughts.
