Train your mind the same way you train your body!

Train my MIND! What the heck Nolan?

I barely make time to train my body and now you want me to train my mind as well.

Let me ask you a question, who does your body and mind belong to? Think deeply about this question because when you get to the answer, you will realise what you need to do.

Let me share some of my personal experiences with you. When I had a NDE with covid pneumonia in 2021, my mind was all over the show. I was not thinking straight, I could not focus, all I wanted to do was sleep! At this point, I figured that my mind was exhausted.

Here’s the thing, I was training five days a week prior to my NDE, my body was in great shape. I can honestly tell you that if my body was in a bad shape, I would not be here typing this mail to you. My body took the brunt during my covid BUT my fitness saved me.

Do you see how they work together?

Here is another quick fact, when I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2019, I fell and hurt my shoulder badly, the pain was unbearable. I could not carry my shoulder bag with my supplies.

As the journey went along, I kept telling my mind to “reject the pain”, and everytime I did this, the pain would go away. I kept practicing this till I was able to summit the mountain successfully.

This led me to believe that there is a strong connection between the body and mind, the key is to learn how to tap into both of them.

Yeah Yeah…thanks for sharing that Nolan. Okay, I know how to train my body

Now tell me how I can train my mind, how do you do it?

Look, lifting weights strengthens our muscles, that’s easy. Likewise, we need to strengthen our mental “muscles” as this improves our memory, attention, brain speed, people skills, etc.

Here are a few tips:

  • Meditation is one of the best ways to train my mind. Just by being still, I can get rid of the unwanted noise in my head.
  • Remove digital distractions.
  • Connect to your higher purpose/self.
  • Reading is amazing, make it a daily habit and I mean positive information.
  • Have a good night’s sleep.
  • Surrendering and letting go of what you cannot control.
